- Before setting up your new private network, you will find and write down your IP address.
- Open the Network and Sharing setting. You can get to this via searching down “system and sharing” and choosing it from the result list.
- Click the “Set up a new connection or system”. In Vista, this will be located in the sidebar.
- Look down and select “Interface with a workplace”.
- If you have wireless connectivity select No, create a fresh connection.
- Select “Apply my Internet Network (VPN)”.
- Enter the VPN data. In the “Web address” field, enter in the server address name or IP address. Enter any short description you might want in the “Destination name” field. Click next when it was done.
- In case you’re setting the connection up for later, select the “Don’t interface now” box.
- Enter your login data if you want. While making the connection, you are given the choice to enter your username and secret key for the VPN. If you’d rather be interested to show this when you begin the connection, leave the fields clear and click Create.
- If you didn’t check the “Don’t connect now” box, you should enter the login data now, as Windows will endeavor to interface with the VPN when you tap the Create button.
- Connect with the VPN. When you need to connect to the VPN, click on the Network symbol in your framework layout. Your VPN will be recorded in the accessible systems list. Select it and enter your login data to connect.
